ORTHOTICS
The Support You Need
Orthotics originates from the Greek word ortho which means to straighten or align.
An orthosis is a device applied to the body that alters the structure and function of the nerves, muscles and bones.
An orthosis may be used to:
Control, alter, stimulate, reduce or immobilise movement patterns of body segments and joints
Assist in energy efficient movement
Reduce pain
Redistribute weight-bearing forces to protect the body

CHILDREN'S ORTHOTICS AND GAIT ANALYSIS
From footwear fitting advice to insoles, AFO's and lycra garments
I have experience in prescribing a wide range of orthoses for children. From symptomatic flat feet to cerebral palsy. Because children are almost constantly growing and changing this must be considered when prescribing (or not prescribing!) Orthoses. We want to align the body to protect it during growth and achieve maximum movement potential for the child, without hindering their nerve muscle and bone development.
FOOTSCAN
Digital gait plate
The digital gait plate contains 4096 sensors to collect precise pressure measurements. This provides dynamic pressure data for accurate biomechanical insole prescription.
The use of the Footscan as a clinical tool enhances analysis and diagnosis by providing evidence-based understanding of foot function, timing, behaviour, asymmetry and pressure.

3D PRINTED INSOLES
Cutting edge technology
Using dynamic pressure data from the Footscan gait plate we can provide bespoke 3D printed insoles, ensuring an accurate comfortable fit for everyday use.
Specialist designs for sporting activities such as running, cycling, skiing and golf are also available.

Phitsâ„¢ insoles are used by many of the British elite athletes including Paula Radcliffe.
